When Not at Work, WealthTech Leaders Give Back

November 2, 2025 Kayla Quigley By Kayla Quigley

When WealthTech on Deck host Jack Sharry asks guests what they do outside of work that others might find surprising, some describe unusual hobbies and passions. Still others talked about meaningful charitable and volunteer work.

Tom Buckingham

For over a decade, Nassau’s Chief Growth officer Tom Buckingham has volunteered with Connecticut Foodshare. This statewide food bank distributes food through hundreds of partner agencies. Tom’s decision to give back is guided by his personal philosophy: “The gift you have received, give as a gift.”

Arnulf Hsu

Arnulf Hsu, CEO of GReminders, dedicates time to mentoring fellow entrepreneurs and high school students. He works with a local foundation that helps teens launch charitable projects, blending business acumen with community impact.

Teddy Gold

In addition to being co-founder and CEO of 3i, Teddy Gold is involved with the City Parks Foundation in New York City. This organization expands access to public parks and tennis courts. Teddy shared how he was looking forward to the foundation’s partnership with the US Open, helping bring the joy of the game and the outdoors to more people across the city.

Mark Spina

Mark Spina, founder and managing partner of Alpha Scale, serves on the board of the Navy SEAL Family Foundation, which provides direct support to families of Navy Special Warfare families. “It’s been humbling, grounding, and inspiring all at once to get a close up look in interaction with that community,” he said.

Steve Zuschin

Outside of his role as sales director at Apex Fintech Solutions, Steve Zuschin serves on the board of the Mongol Ecology Center. He helps raise funds and deliver motorcycles to park rangers in remote areas around the world. Most recently, Steve participated in a motorcycle delivery to Bhutan in the Himalayas. He and the team delivered 18 motorcycles across three park systems ranging from 500 feet to 13,500 feet in elevation.

Jack Sharry

Finally, Jack Sharry often speaks about his experience serving on the board of Hale Education, which works to promote conservation and educate children about the environment.
